The Way You Cook Red Meat Really Matters!
Many studies have focused on red meat. However, new research shows that high blood pressure is more likely to be caused by how red meat is cooked. Researchers presented a 16-year-old study on red meat and fish cooking in 2018. The researchers concluded that cooking at high temperatures, such as open flames, increases the risk of hypertension.
Hypertension was 17% more common in participants who grilled meats and fish than in those who broiled, roasted or fried. Research suggests that overcooking can increase blood pressure by increasing the body’s inflammatory response. Limit your intake of red meat to two meals per week.
