Regular exercise increases cardiovascular risk factors (blood glucose, body weight, hypertension, and dyslipidemia). It is also more effective in reducing insulin resistance, almost double the effectiveness of other diabetes drugs (64% vs. 36% with metformin).
Exercise three to four times per week is recommended.
- Run;
- bicycling;
- mechanism;
- gymnastics;
- I’m swimming;
- cross-country skiing;
- canoe;
- dance.
However, only a brisk walk for at least 30 minutes per day has significant benefits for the body and mind.
Cardiovascular risk factors can be controlled.
Diabetes and hyperglycemia are linked to higher rates of adverse health events and worse prognosis. The “state of insulin resistance” occurs approximately 7-8 years before the onset of diabetes. It correlates with increased cardiovascular risk and other diseases like arterial hypertension or dyslipidemia.
