Although fruit juice can be considered healthy. It is best to stick with water if it is concentrated. This is because this refreshing, thirst-quenching beverage is not suitable for your health.
Concentrated juices are subject to rigorous pasteurization, filtering, and evaporation. This is not good news for your health. Although pasteurization may prolong the juice’s shelf-life, it can also cause damage to the vitamins in the juice.
There’s also a high fructose level in concentrated juices. A Princeton University study found that too much fructose can cause small intestine overload and contribute to obesity. Even concentrated juices do not contain a lot of fructose. Studies have shown that this can lead to metabolic syndrome and raise your risk of developing diabetes and heart disease. You may consume more toxic chemicals than you thought, as additives are often added to concentrated juice to make it brighter and taste better.
Although it is better than drinking a can of soda. It is wiser to drink a glass of water or fresh juice or make your smoothie with raw fruit. Because of the high fructose in fresh juice, you shouldn’t consume more than one glass per day. However, it is best to eat your fruit whole.
