Nutmeg
Although Nutmeg can be enjoyed with coffee or other sweets, it is not always a safe option. Researchers at the University of Malaysia discovered that Nutmeg could be a hallucinogen if consumed in large amounts. It contains myristicin, a narcotic with unpleasant side effects.
Myristicin can have LSD-like effects lasting up to 12 hours. It can cause dry mouth, hangover symptoms, panic attacks, anxiety, and even panic attacks.
Biomedicine and Pharmacotherapy published a study that found that regular intake of high levels of Nutmeg was associated with an increase in fatty liver. This condition is often linked to high alcohol intake. To avoid myristicin’s adverse effects, it’s suggested not to consume more than 1 teaspoon of ground nutmeat in one sitting.
